About the facilities
The Ceramics Department Studio is equipped with:
- Slab rollers
- Potter’s wheels
- Extruders
- 12 electric kilns
- 3 gas kilns
- Plaster/slip casting area
- Soda kiln
- Salt kiln
- Outdoor firing area for pit and raku firing
Access
Ceramics facilities are open to all Ceramics majors and minors and any students currently enrolled in a Ceramics Class. Students who are not majors, minors, or enrolled in a class may submit a project proposal via email within the first two weeks of the semester. Proposals are only accepted from either undergraduate students who have taken CE200 or CE201 or graduate students who can demonstrate comparable previous experience.
