Christina Jenkins

Interim Director, Master of Arts in Social Design, 2024-25

Christina Jenkins is a teacher and artist whose medium is school. She taught for a decade in New York City public schools, and now organizes learning experiences for adults to bring radical worldviews into practice. Her diverse influences range from Highlander Folk School and Monument Lab to reality television, Chicago Freedom School, KSMoCA and Lynda Barry. She consults widely, collaborating with educators to organize transformative field trips for adults and advancing curriculum that builds youth power. Previously, she was the program director at Girls Garage and a partner at Transcend, where she supported educators across the country with reimagining the future of school.

Christina comes to 足球游戏_中国足彩网¥体育资讯 from Sacramento, where she lives on the same street where she grew up. In addition to teaching, she is a writer, printmaker, parent, neighbor and activist. She serves on the board of S.O.U.R.C.E. Studio. Her current interests are in wealth redistribution and solidarity economies. Her last collection of essays, You Can Borrow My Cat Skeleton, explores the relationship between capitalism, neighbors and community in her local Buy Nothing group.
