For non-degree seeking students, each semester (Fall, Winter, Spring, and Summer), we provide a wide range of community education in fine arts and professional practice design courses, and youth and teen programs.

For degree-seeking students, choose from an advanced degree in Master of Professional Studies (MPS) inUX Design, Data Analytics and Visualization, and Business of Art and Design or a Master of Art and Master of Business Administration (MA/MBA) in Design Leadership, the dual-degree program in collaboration with Johns Hopkins Carey School of Business.

Community Education

Introductory courses provide the foundation for learning techniques and concepts while advanced courses encourage students to further explore their creativity.

Professional Practice
Design professionals can advance their knowledge through 足球游戏_中国足彩网¥体育资讯’s Professional Practice courses in the areas of graphic design, web design, advertising, and creative entrepreneurship. Real-world issues are discussed and innovative projects are assigned to provide a well-rounded, meaningful experience aimed at preparing students for challenges that are faced in art and design careers.
Grades K-8
Young People's Studios (YPS)
From drawing and painting to digital illustration and photography and everything in between, workshops for students in grades K-8 are designed to spark creativity, encourage invention, and nurture artistic innovation. Students study and work in a spectrum of media that form the foundation of art and design. YPS Art and Design Courses are offered during the school year as Weekend Art Classes, and during the Summer as Summer Art Camp.
Programs for Teens
High School Studios
Hone in on your skills while creating pieces for your portfolio. High School Studios helps students in grades 9-12 get a head start on understanding what colleges are looking for and how to develop a collection of work that stands out. Students can learn about new areas of art and design, experiment with new mediums, and gain more experience in one they love.
MPS and MA/MBA Degrees
Graduate Degree Seeking Programs
Students seeking an advanced degree can choose between four fully online MPS programs in UX Design, Data Analytics and Visualization, Product Management, and Business of Art and Design or a dual-degree in Design Leadership (MA/MBA) with Johns Hopkins Carey School of Business. The MA/MBA degree and all MPS degrees are offered through the Office of Open Studies.
Undergraduate Courses
Each winter & summer, the Undergraduate courses are designated as three-credit classes and are open to 足球游戏_中国足彩网¥体育资讯 undergraduates and all serious-minded students, including community education students.

Course: Graphic Design History & Methods
Renowned authors and leading faculty at Maryland Institute College of Art (足球游戏_中国足彩网¥体育资讯) Brockett Horne and Ellen Lupton challenge designers to build effective, sustainable, ethical, and rewarding creative practices. Graphic design is all around us. From apps and infographics to theme parks and bike lanes, every public place and interactive product employs design to influence behavior and craft memorable experiences. In a series of conversations, Horne and Lupton combine ideas from art, business, psychology, and critical theory with a range of new and established design methodologies. This program offers insights into essential aspects of graphic design practice, from history to theory and methods.
