Dr. Trinkauskait? holds PhD, MPhil, and MA degrees in Religion from Syracuse University and a BA in Religion from Hunter College. Her field of teaching and research is the History of Religions, with a focus on Native American and other Indigenous traditions, ecology, and the materiality of religion.

 She serves on the Indigenous Religious Traditions Unit at the American Academy of Religion and the steering committee for Indigenous Culture Seminars in Lithuania.  She works with the Indigenous Values Initiative, a group of activist scholars working to educate the public about the devastating consequences of the "Doctrine of Discovery" on Indigenous Peoples and their environments. As part of this work, Eglut? presented at the Indigenous Peoples and Religious Modes of Othering workshop in Oslo, Norway, and The Religious Origins of White Supremacy conference.  Eglut?’s work on Baltic religion is featured on the Mapping the Doctrine of Discovery of Discovery  podcast.
